The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has sounded a warning bell, cautioning that internal divisions could cost it the 2027 presidential election. National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade, emphasized the need for unity and reconciliation within the party.

"A fractured PDP cannot heal a fractured nation," Ajibade stated at the PDP National Restoration Movement National Summit in Abuja. "A house divided against itself cannot stand. A divided PDP cannot win elections."

Ajibade highlighted the party's past achievements, including stabilizing democracy and attracting foreign investment under former President Olusegun Obasanjo. He stressed that unity requires sacrifice and putting Nigeria above personal ambition.

The PDP chieftain urged members to prioritize the party's core values and existence over individual interests. "Restoring unity in the PDP is restoring survival for Nigeria," he said.

PDP's National Restoration Movement President, Joseph Onuoha, expressed confidence in the party's structures and its candidate for the 2026 FCT election, urging members to put aside grievances and work towards reconciliation.
